This site is owned and operated by Candid Money Limited ('we', 'us' or 'our'). We take the privacy and security of your personal information very seriously, as set out below:
We do not collect your personal information when entering or using our site except as follows:
Becoming a registered user of candidmoney.com allows you to contribute to the website, such as ‘asking Justin’ questions and posting reviews and forum entries. When you register we collect your email address, a username and a password. Your password is stored in an encrypted format in our database to reduce the risk of it being compromised.
Your email address will never be passed to any third parties, unless we are required to do so by law.
We will only send you informative emails if, during the registration process, you elected to receive emails from us. You can change this at any time by visiting the ‘my profile’ page.
A cookie consists of a small amount of information sent by our web server to your web browser, where it’s stored. We use two types of cookie:
We use these cookies to anonymously track the pages and features visited on the site, helping us improve the site moving forwards (basically so we can see what's popular and what's not). These are deleted when you close your browser.
If you’re a registered user we use these cookies to detect whether you’re logged in. This saves you the hassle of having to login every time you visit the site, if you select the 'remember me' option when logging in. The cookie will remain stored in your browser until you logout, delete it or it reaches a specified expiry date (latter two only if you selected 'remember me').
We or our service providers may also use your IP address to collect, among other things, internet traffic data and data regarding your browser type and computer.
Any information we collect from the use of session cookies and IP address data is aggregated to review overall statistical information, we do not use the information to identify individual site users.
Most browsers allow you to reject cookies, please refer to your browser’s help section for information on how to do this. For example, in Internet Explorer you can refuse all cookies by clicking ‘Tools’, ‘Internet Options’, ‘Privacy’, and selecting ‘Block all cookies’ using the sliding selector. Blocking all cookies will, however, have a negative impact upon the usability of many websites, including this one.
We take reasonable precautions to prevent the loss, misuse or alteration of your personal information. We will store all the personal information you provide on our secure (password and firewall protected) server. However, we cannot guarantee the security of any information you disclose to us or any data sent over the internet.
If you have registered on the site you may instruct us to provide you with any personal information we hold about you, subject to the payment of a £10 fee. Please send such requests in writing to the above address, including your email address and payment.
